Introduction to The Inertia Puzzle

Slide across the grid to collect all gems without hitting a single mine—precision and planning are your only allies in Inertia.

Inertia is a minimalist yet deeply engaging logic puzzle game. Played on a square grid, Inertia challenges players to collect all the green gems scattered across the board while carefully avoiding hidden mines.

The core mechanic revolves around inertial movement: when you start moving in one of the 8 cardinal directions (up, down, left, right, diagonally), your piece slides continuously in a straight line until it hits a wall, a gem, or a mine. You cannot stop mid-slide—this constraint forces players to think several steps ahead and plan precise trajectories. Collecting a gem stops your movement safely, but touching a mine ends the game immediately.

The goal is simple: collect every gem without hitting any mines. However, achieving this becomes increasingly complex as levels introduce intricate layouts, limited safe stopping points, and strategic trade-offs.

How to Play The Inertia Puzzle?

Slide the ball around the grid to collect the gems. Each time the ball moves, it continues sliding until it hits a wall or lands on a stop square (the broken circles). Try to collect all the gems without hitting any mines.

Use the numeric keypad to slide the ball horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. Alternatively, click on the grid to move the ball toward the clicked location.

If you hit a mine and explode, you can choose Undo from the Game menu to continue playing. The game will keep track of how many times you've died.

You can also use the arrow keys to slide the ball.
