Introduction to The Pegs Puzzle

Pegs is a digital adaptation of the classic peg solitaire game. Played on a cross-shaped or custom grid filled with pegs (represented as filled circles), the objective is deceptively simple: remove pegs one by one through valid jumps until only a single peg remains.

A valid move consists of jumping one peg over an adjacent peg into an empty space directly beyond it, either horizontally or vertically. The jumped-over peg is then removed from the board. Diagonal jumps are not allowed. The challenge lies in planning your sequence of moves carefully—each decision affects future possibilities, and a single misstep can leave you stranded with multiple isolated pegs and no way to continue.

Unlike many logic puzzles that emphasize deduction from static clues, Pegs is a sequential planning puzzle: success depends on foresight, backtracking, and strategic sacrifice. The game provides instant feedback and allows unlimited undo, encouraging experimentation and refinement of your solution path.

How to Play The Pegs Puzzle?

Jump one peg over another to remove the peg you jumped over. Try to remove all but one peg.

Drag a peg into an empty space to make a move. The destination space must be exactly two holes away from the starting position, in an orthogonal direction (horizontal or vertical), and there must be a peg in the hole between them.
